Discover the Alliance Française Paris

A non-profit organization founded in 1883 to disseminate the French language and culture as a tool for intercultural mediation and as a vehicle for peace, the Alliance française de Paris has been welcoming more than 10,000 students from over 120 countries every year for over 140 years. An industry leader, a training organization and a private institution of higher learning, the association has built its action and its reputation on :

As part of the worldwide network of Alliances françaises, the Alliance française de Paris is dedicated to teaching the French language, providing a resource center and organizing activities to discover French-speaking cultures. It plays an active role in the training of teachers of French as a foreign language, and in the continuing training of managers of the international network. Its expertise in this field is recognized and nurtured by essential and constant pedagogical innovation.

The Campus

Located in the heart of Paris and only a stone's throw from the Jardin du Luxembourg, the institution welcomes over 10,000 students of more than 120 different nationalities each year.

AF Paris offers a range of in-person as well as online courses to suit different learning needs, including intensive courses.

History

A unique organization of its kind, the Alliance Française de Paris was founded in
1883 in Paris under Paul Cambon and Pierre Foncin, with help from a few notable figures including Jules Verne, Louis Pasteur, Ferdinand de Lesseps, Armand Colin, and Ernest Renan.
